DAY 4: KUMASI AND CRAFT VILLAGES
Continue your tour of the Ashanti Kingdom with immersive visits to its rich cultural villages. Your first stop is Adanwomase, the heartland of traditional Kente weaving. Here, skilled weavers will introduce you to the centuries old art of creating Kente cloth, Ghana’s most iconic textile, once reserved for royalty. You’ll observe the entire weaving process and even have the unique opportunity to try your hands on a loom and weave a few rows yourself. It’s an unforgettable hands-on experience with one of Ghana’s proudest cultural traditions. Next, visit a nearby cocoa farm to explore the origins of Ghana’s world-renowned cocoa. Learn about the stages of cocoa cultivation, from pod to bean. See firsthand how this beloved crop grows and gain a deeper appreciation for the journey behind your favorite chocolates.
Your final stop is Ntonso Adinkra Village, famous for producing Adinkra cloth decorated with deeply symbolic motifs. Here, you’ll discover the meanings behind various Adinkra symbols and their relevance in Ghanaian life, from spirituality to storytelling. Participants will also have the chance to create a personal keepsake by stamping their favorite Adinkra symbols onto a strip of cloth to take home as a cultural souvenir.

DAY 5: KUMASI – CAPE COAST/ELMINA (VIA ASSIN MANSO)
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and set off on a reflective journey to Elmina, with powerful historical stops along the way.
Your first stop is the Assin Manso Slave River Site, a sacred and somber place deeply tied to the history of the transatlantic slave trade. This site served as a final resting and bathing point for enslaved Africans before their long, harrowing journey to the coast. Known as “Donkor Nsuo” or the “Slave River,” this was where captives took their Last Bath before being led in chains to the dungeons. In 1998, Assin Manso became the reburial site of two former slaves, one from the USA and another from Jamaica whose remains were ceremoniously returned to Ghana during its first Emancipation Day celebration.
Continue to the Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest slave-holding structures built by European traders along the West African coast. A guided tour through its dungeons, courtyards, and the infamous “Door of No Return” will offer deep insight into the painful yet crucial history of the transatlantic slave trade.

As you walk across the canopy, enjoy breathtaking views of the lush rainforest and keep an eye out for unique birdlife and flora native to the region. After the canopy walk adventure, return to the hotel for check-out and begin your scenic drive back to Accra

Today, you will explore the bustling capital of Togo, Lome. Our tour will include a tour of the
Palais de Lome; The Palais de Lomé is a historic and cultural landmark located in the heart of Togo’s capital city. Once the official residence of the Governor during the German colonial era and later the Togolese presidential palace, the building has since been beautifully restored and transformed into a contemporary art and culture center.
Monument de l’independence; The Monument de l’Indépendance stands as a powerful testament to Togo’s liberation from French colonial rule, officially commemorating independence on 27 April 1960.
Akodessewa Fetish Market; The world’s largest voodoo (vodun) market. It offers an immersive glimpse into Togo’s centuries-old vodun traditions, where spirituality, healing, and commerce intertwine. Akodessewa is no mere curiosity—it’s a hub of spiritual life in Togo and throughout West Africa. Many locals see it as a ritual hospital or pharmacy, especially when conventional medicine fails. The market’s roots trace back to the 17th century Dahomey kingdom, and practitioners from across the region continue its legacy today.

DAY 9: COTONOU, BENIN
Known as the “Birth Place of Vodun” religion, we welcome you to the amazing country of Benin. Explore the history of the Dahomey Amazon Women Warriors (Agojie or Mino in the Fon language), the Vodun tour of Ouidah, the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ganvie, the City on Stilts also known as the “Venice of West Africa”, the bustling commercial capital of Cotonou and historical administrative capital of Porto Novo.
You will have a tour of Ouidah, which is known as the Vodun (Vodoo) headquarters of Benin to learn about the Vodun (Voodoo) religion. The guided tour will take us to the Kpasse Sacred Forest, The Python Temple. Ouidah does not only serve as the Center of Vodun religion but also played a big role in the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade as one of the biggest slave markets. We will walk the path of the ancestors to the “Gate Of No Return”.

DAY 10: GANVIE, THE “VENICE OF AFRICA”
Ganvie with an estimated population of about 20,000 is the largest community on a lake. Ganvie has was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. Located on the shallow waters an island of Lake Nokoue, the people of Ganvie are often referred to as “water men” and it has also earned the nickname of the “Venice of Africa”.
