Day 1 – Tamale to Zaina Lodge
Catch a morning flight to Tamale. Upon arrival, your tour guide and driver will meet you at the arrival hall for a transfer to Zaina Lodge. The journey from Tamale to Zaina Lodge takes approximately 3 hours.
Day 2 – Mole National Park Safari
After breakfast, depart from your hotel and embark on a 2-hour safari drive at Mole National Park.
Mole National Park is the largest and most prestigious protected area in Ghana, located in the northwest of the country. It spans 4,849 square kilometers and is Ghana’s largest wildlife refuge. The park boasts rich flora and fauna and is especially known for its elephant population of about 600, along with various other primates.
Mognori Eco Village Tour and Departure
In the late afternoon, visit Mognori Eco Village for an authentic Ghanaian village experience. During the tour, you’ll observe traditional Shea Butter making and meet a local herbal medicine practitioner who will educate you on various herbs and their medicinal uses.
Day 3 – Mole National Park Safari
After breakfast, check out and head to Tamale airport for your flight back to Accra.
On the way, stop at the famous Larabanga Mosque. Built in 1421, it is the oldest mosque in Ghana and one of the oldest in West Africa, often referred to as the “Mecca of West Africa.”
Depending on your arrival time in Tamale, you may also visit the Red Clay Studio — an artist-run project space, exhibition, and research hub. The studio showcases artifacts ranging from the Second World War to contemporary times.
