SHAI HILLS AND AKOSOMBO with Cruise DAY TRIP

Shai Hills Resource Reserve

Located just outside Accra, Shai Hills Resource Reserve is the closest wildlife park to the capital city and offers a unique blend of nature, history, and cultural heritage.

During the visit, you’ll encounter a variety of wildlife including baboons, antelopes, zebras, ostriches, fruit-eating bats, and many native bird species. The park also features historical caves that once served as safe havens and hiding places during tribal wars in ancient times.

This protected area was once home to the Shai people, who were displaced by the British in 1892. Today, artifacts and remnants of the Shai people’s culture can still be seen within the reserve.

As part of the experience, we will also explore the newly opened Museum of Natural and Cultural Heritage of the Shai people, located inside the park.

Boat Cruise at Royal Senchi Resort

To conclude the day, we will enjoy a 1-hour scenic cruise along the Volta River. Relax as you take in the serene surroundings of lush vegetation and rolling hills that line the riverbanks.

After the cruise, enjoy a delightful lunch at the Royal Senchi Resort before we head back to Accra.
