DAY 3: ACCRA – TAMALE
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your short one-hour flight to Tamale, the bustling capital of Ghana’s Northern Region. Upon arrival, your local tour guide and driver will warmly welcome you at the arrival hall.
Begin your northern adventure with a visit to the Red Clay Studio, an artist-run space that serves as a vibrant hub for contemporary art, research, and cultural dialogue. Explore the captivating exhibitions, including artifacts that range from World War II relics to striking modern installations that reflect Ghana’s evolving artistic landscape.
After the tour, depart Tamale for a scenic 3-hour drive to Zaina Lodge, West Africa’s first luxury safari lodge located in Mole National Park. Upon arrival, check in and unwind amidst nature. Enjoy the serene surroundings and prepare for the exciting safari experiences ahead.

DAY 4: SAFARI & ECO-VILLAGE EXPERIENCE
After an early breakfast, set out on a thrilling 2-hour guided safari drive through Mole National Park—Ghana’s largest and most renowned wildlife reserve. Spanning nearly 4,850 square kilometers, the park is home to a remarkable variety of flora and fauna. Keep your camera ready as you explore the natural habitat of over 600 African elephants, as well as baboons, antelopes, warthogs, and numerous bird species. The peaceful morning setting offers the best chance for close encounters with wildlife.
In the late afternoon, journey to the nearby Mognori Eco-Village for an authentic taste of traditional life in northern Ghana. Here, you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the village and engage with locals in hands-on cultural experiences, including Shea butter production—a centuries-old craft led by local women. You’ll also meet a traditional herbal medicine practitioner, who will introduce you to a variety of indigenous plants and explain their medicinal uses.

Along the way, you’ll stop at the beautiful Kintampo Waterfalls, one of Ghana’s most picturesque natural attractions. DAY 6: MANHYIA PALACE MUSEUM & CRAFT VILLAGES TOUR
Today, immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of the Ashanti Kingdom on a full-day tour of Kumasi’s historical and craft landmarks.
Your first stop will be the Manhyia Palace Museum, the former royal residence of Ashanti kings until 1974. Now a museum, it offers deep insight into the history, power, and traditions of one of Ghana’s most influential tribes. Through guided exhibits, learn about the Ashanti monarchy, view royal regalia, and hear fascinating stories of conquest, diplomacy, and resistance.
Next, travel to Ntonso Adinkra Village, the home of traditional Adinkra cloth printing. Here, you’ll discover the meanings and significance of various Adinkra symbols, each one a powerful expression of cultural wisdom and philosophy. Guests will also have the opportunity to create their own printed cloth using their favorite symbols, a special souvenir to take home.
Continue to Adanwomase, the heartland of Kente weaving, where the iconic, brightly colored cloth is handwoven using traditional looms. Local weavers will demonstrate their intricate techniques, and you’ll even get a chance to try weaving yourself. This centuries-old craft is a symbol of prestige and identity in Ghanaian culture.
To end the day, visit a nearby cocoa farm to learn about the origin of Ghana’s world-renowned chocolate. Walk through the farm, see how cocoa is cultivated, and understand the process from pod to product.

DAY 7: KUMASI – CAPE COAST (VIA ASSIN MANSO)
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and set off on a reflective journey to Elmina, with powerful historical stops along the way.
Your first stop is the Assin Manso Slave River Site, a sacred and somber place deeply tied to the history of the transatlantic slave trade. This site served as a final resting and bathing point for enslaved Africans before their long, harrowing journey to the coast. Known as “Donkor Nsuo” or the “Slave River,” this was where captives took their Last Bath before being led in chains to the dungeons. In 1998, Assin Manso became the reburial site of two former slaves, one from the USA and another from Jamaica whose remains were ceremoniously returned to Ghana during its first Emancipation Day celebration.
Continue to the Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest slave-holding structures built by European traders along the West African coast. A guided tour through its dungeons, courtyards, and the infamous “Door of No Return” will offer deep insight into the painful yet crucial history of the transatlantic slave trade.

After breakfast, set off for an exhilarating visit to Kakum National Park, one of Ghana’s most famous natural attractions. Experience the thrill of the Kakum Canopy Walk, a series of hanging bridges suspended high above the forest floor. As you walk across the canopy, enjoy breathtaking views of the lush rainforest and keep an eye out for unique birdlife and flora native to the region. After the canopy walk adventure, return to the hotel for check-out and begin your scenic drive back to Accra.
